Every great project begins with a vision. For these clients, it was captured in three words: coffee, piano, camping. Three passions that guided every decision, with the goal of creating a home that truly reflects the way they live.
The steeply pitched roof demanded exceptional technical expertise, and this challenge became the project’s strongest architectural statement. The exterior beams, handcrafted using traditional half-lap timber framing techniques, transform the structure into an architectural feature: a true expression of craftsmanship, executed with care and precision.
In keeping with this authentic approach, materials were selected for their connection to the region: locally sourced spruce cladding, steel roofing, hemp insulation, and limewash paint.
Set on many acres of forest, the clients were committed to preserving the land as much as possible. The home occupies only what was necessary, carefully placed within a landscape they chose to leave untouched. A home that reflects who they are: authentic, rooted, and deeply alive.
